Mount Sinai Medical Center is seeking a board eligible/certified neurologist for a Neurocritical Care fellowship position. This two-year position meets all of the requirements outlined by the United Council of Neurological Specialties and will allow for certification at the completion of the fellowship.
The Mount Sinai Neurosciences ICU (NSICU) is a 16 bed unit that is staffed by both neurology, medicine and anesthesia trained intensivists, offering a broad range of teaching expertise in a multi-disciplinary setting. Mount Sinai is an accredited stroke center, offers full service neuro-interventional care and treats all types of neurologic critical illnesses. Fellows will gain proficiency in ultrasound guided central venous and arterial line placement, PA catheter placement, lumbar puncture, endotracheal intubation, ventilator management and bronchoscopy among other skills. Weekly critical care conferences, a statistics course and research oriented didactics are offered. Fellows will spend time in the surgical ICU and complete a line service rotation. Elective time will be available to pursue research interests or to rotate through other services such as neuro-anesthesia, stroke or the medical ICU.
Salary: PGY-V or higher
4 weeks vacation/year
