Description:
The Center for Neurocritical Care at the Northwell Health System and the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra / Northwell is seeking neurointensivists to join its expanding neurocritical care program. Northwell Health is New York State’s largest health care provider and private employer. With a network of 21 hospitals, 3 skilled nursing facilities, multiple specialty programs and institutes, and research facilities that include the renowned Feinstein Institute for Medical Research and the Cold Spring Harbor Labs, Northwell provides integrated medical care that is unmatched within the New York metropolitan region and Long Island.

Lenox Hill Hospital (LHH), located in the Upper East Side of Manhattan, is one of two comprehensive stroke centers within the health system.

About the Center for Neurocritical Care:
The Center is comprised of 13 board certified / fellowship trained neurointensivists who currently provide in-house neurocritical care coverage at North and South Shore University Hospitals in Long Island and LHH in Manhattan. The Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit at LHH is a 12-bed subspecialty unit staffed by 4 neurointensivists, fellows, residents and physician assistants with the full-range of multimodal monitoring capability. The Center, in partnership with the Northwell Health Tele-ICU program, has developed a novel tele-NeuroICU program which provides emergent neurocritical care consultations to emergency rooms and ICUs throughout the health system. Neurocritical care faculty actively participates in NIH, industry, and investigator-initiated clinical trials and is supported by three research coordinators, a biostatistician, and departmental director of clinical research programs. The Center participates in both UCNS- and CAST-accredited fellowship programs training a total of four fellows each year.

About the successful candidate:
The candidate will be BE/BC in neurocritical care with strong educational, clinical, and leadership skills capable of leading a large multidisciplinary ICU team. Candidates will have clinical appointments at either the Assistant or Associate Professor level through the Zucker School of Medicine and must be eligible for licensure in the State of New York. Candidates with a track record of clinical or basic science research are especially encouraged to apply and will be supported by a robust research infrastructure.
