The University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine seeks an Associate or Assistant professor level Neurocritical Care faculty to serve at our primary teaching affiliate, Tampa General Hospital (TGH). TGH is a 1,010 bed facility and the #1 U.S. News & World Report ranked hospital in Tampa Bay (and #3 in all of Florida). The TGH Neuro Critical Care (NCC) unit is currently one of the largest and most active in the state and is being further expanded as part of an enhanced collaborative venture between USF and TGH. As part of the faculty, you will become part of a growing collaborative, multidisciplinary Neurocritical Care practice. The NCC service will have strong support from both USF and TGH and will work closely with the large and very successful USF departments of neurology and neurosurgery, with appointments in both. The USF Department of Neurology currently has approximately 75 faculty members, 50 residents and fellows, and over 100 clinical trials. The USF Stroke Center routinely is awarded the highest ratings from the AHA and is a designated comprehensive stroke center, and our comprehensive Epilepsy Center is a leading center for epilepsy surgery in the southeastern United States. The Department of Neurosurgery is one of the largest in the Southeast and includes outstanding neurosurgeons and neurointerventionalists covering the full range of advanced neurosurgical services.

Successful candidates will hold a M.D. or M.D. Ph.D. and be board-certified or board-eligible in neurocritical care (or the equivalent). Candidates with dedicated Neurocritical Care fellowship training are preferred.

The NCC team, in collaboration with Department and hospital partners, actively pursues the research efforts of faculty. If you have specific investigative focus areas, please highlight them in your cover letter so that we can determine what support is available. Clinical research efforts benefit from our team of coordinators, grant specialists and data analysts. Our basic science lab includes a diverse group of NIH funded investigators; those interested in Traumatic Brain Injuries are especially encouraged to apply.
