One, full-time clinical faculty position at the Clinical Faculty Assistant or Associate level in the Department of Neurological Surgery at Stony Brook University Hospital. Candidate must be a MD, DO or MD/PhD or equivalent physician who has completed a neurocritical care fellowship and be US Board Certified or US Board Eligible. The candidate will be joining a dedicated neurocritical care team including neurosurgeons, stroke neurologists, neurointerventionalists, residents as well as eleven specially trained Advanced Practice Providers. Stony Brook Medicine is the only Level 1 Trauma Center in Suffolk County and is a Joint Commission Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center.

A successful candidate will be responsible for direct patient care of critically ill neurological, cerebrovascular/endovascular and neurosurgical patients in a state of the art 14 bed closed NCCU. The unit is equipped with features such as: wired real time EEG in every room, portable head CT and brain oxygen monitoring. The candidates will participate in the training of residents and fellows and should have a desire to satisfy the tripartite mission of patient care, education and research shared by other members of the faculty. Successful candidate will have clinical appointments at either the Assistant or Associate Professor level through the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University.
