If you want to know more about Neuro Nursing, this is the virtual event for you! We will present a comprehensive overview of our different Neuro Units and you will hear from Neuro Unit Manager and recruiter. This will be your opportunity to have video chats and ask any questions you like about our nursing career opportunities, benefits, lifestyle, and our unique culture.
Our Neuroscience Units offer nurses a diverse patient population which provides an excellent learning environment and the opportunity for professional development. Our robust new hire program sets each nurse up for success and allows the opportunity for nurses to “cross-train” within neurosciences to broaden their career. Our nurses have the opportunity to practice in three distinct units:Neurosciences/ENT Unit
A 21-bed general medical-surgical level and epilepsy monitoring unit. The primary patient population includes neurology, neurosurgery, and ear, nose and throat (ENT) patients. Neuroscience/ENT provides specialized nursing care for patients with: strokes, epilepsy, brain and/or spinal cord tumors/injuries, movement disorders, laryngectomies and tracheotomies.Neuroscience Special Care Unit (NSCU)
A 8-bed continuous care environment with full bedside monitoring capabilities. Nurses care for patients with complex medical, surgical, respiratory and multi-trauma needs including care for:
• Post-operative neuroscience
• Complex ENT and trauma
• Acute strokes
• Continuous cardiac monitoring
• Cardiac drips
• Lumbar drains
The Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, a Level-1 academic center in New Hampshire offers exciting, acute care opportunities in a rigorous, academic-focused environment. If you are a neuro nursing professional looking for that “right fit” for your next career move, your time will be well spent if you continue reading. The Dartmouth-Hitchcock organization is a unique place. We are one of the few locations throughout the United States that can offer nurses and surg techs some of the most diverse, sophisticated and rewarding careers, but we can also claim an outstanding quality of life. Why are we so unique? We recognize that “quality of life” means different things to different people, but we are pretty confident since we have beautiful, rural and suburban housing options, world-class primary, secondary and graduate schools, hundreds of lakes, thousands of miles of hiking trails and some of the best skiing in the country. This all means you can be professionally happy with more quality time with friends, family, pets or maybe just quiet hikes by yourself. Our idea of traffic in the “Upper Valley” of New Hampshire is a line on the ski mountain at the chair lift.
If you cannot make the event, please reach out to our recruiter Ricky Armand
