The Department of Neurology and the Neurosciences Institute of Albany Medical Center is seeking a BC/BE Neurologist with fellowship training in Neurointensive Care. Additional Board Certification in Vascular Neurology is not required, but would be preferred. The successful candidate will join 2 other neurointensivists and a team of neurovascular interventionalists, neurosurgeons and seven inpatient dedicated neurointensive care/stroke APPs, available for 24/7 coverage. The practice, in addition to patient care in the Neuro-ICU, will include participation in research studies, educational activities for the medical students, residents and 2 fellows per year. We have a 15-bed state-of-the-art stroke unit and a dedicated new15-bed Neurosciences Intensive Care Unit hosting a latest generation CT scan. The Neurointensivist will also hold an Academic position as an Assistant or Associate Professor at the Albany Medical College, which was founded in 1839 and is one of the oldest medical schools in the country.

Albany Medical Center is one of the “Top 100” Stroke Hospitals in the U.S., is both TJC and New York State Department of Health Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center and a Level-1 Trauma Center, with a catchment area of almost 3 million people. It serves as a major referral center of upstate New York and surrounding States such as Vermont and Western Massachusetts.
