The Department of Neurology at Washington University in St. Louis seeks an Academic Epileptologist (MD or MD/PhD) for a position at the early or mid-career level in the Adult Epilepsy Section. The Washington University and Barnes-Jewish Epilepsy Center is a level 4 regional epilepsy center (National Association of Epilepsy Centers guidelines). The program is involved in all aspects of epilepsy care, including an active inpatient epilepsy-monitoring unit (EMU), with comprehensive medical and surgical diagnostic and treatment capabilities, and will expand current ICU EEG monitoring to a comprehensive service. The candidate must be BC/BE and have 1-2 years of fellowship training in adult epilepsy. Candidates with additional neurocritical care training and/or experience are also encouraged to apply. Clinical duties will include sharing coverage of inpatient EMU, LTM, and intensive care unit EEG services, as well as outpatient epilepsy clinical duties. Educational responsibilities will involve the teaching and supervision of EEG technologists, medical students, residents, and fellows in the inpatient and outpatient setting, as well as in didactic teaching sessions. There are also opportunities for clinical research within the Adult Epilepsy Section, Neurology-Neurosurgery ICU section, and collaborations within the Department of Neurology and University.
