In area of specialty, the Nurse Specialist acts as a clinician, educator, consultant, researcher and leader relevant to the needs of the specialty program. The role serves as a clinical resource and expert in area of specialty, implements evidence based practice, communicates needs and coordinates services among other members of the health care team in order to ensure total quality patient care and improved patient outcomes. This role will require proficiency in technology and software required to do the job most effectively as well as the ability to prioritize work and monitor a wide array of detail. Demonstrates knowledge of professional nursing theory and practice, clinical competency and professional development and utilizes Swanson Theory of Caring and patient/family centered care as the foundation for practice.
Advanced practice nurse licensed as a clinical nurse specialist or nurse practitioner preferred. Experience in neuroscience and/or stroke preferred.
Three years of clinical experience in a specialty area
Master Degree Nursing
One Of: CNS or NP
One of: CNS-S or NNP
Registered Nurse (KY)
One year as an APP
