The Department of Neurology and Rehabilitation at the University of Illinois-Chicago (UIC) College of Medicine has undergone a rapid expansion with a goal of becoming a premier academic Neurology program. We are currently seeking outstanding faculty members in Neurocritical Care. Successful candidates will join an exceptional peer group and a Neuro-ICU team that oversees a high-volume 22-bed unit in a tertiary care transfer center and Comprehensive Stroke Center in the heart of the Chicago Medical District, caring for a diverse spectrum of patients and pathology. The Neuro-ICU team is a multidisciplinary team composed of dedicated ICU residents from neurology, neurosurgery, and anesthesia, as well as critical care fellows, pharmacists, and an experienced and passionate nursing staff. Candidates should have completed an ACGME-approved fellowship and be board-eligible or certified in Neurocritical Care by the UCNS. The Department of Neurology at UIC has a 3 part mission of patient care, research, and education, and ideal candidates will have strong academic interests with a record of leadership, research, teaching, and clinical service. The positions will be jointly appointed in the Departments of Neurology and Neurosurgery, will have access to cutting edge treatment modalities, and will have a significant impact on building the program further. Salary/rank/tenure is commensurate with experience. A competitive start-up package including protected time for academic/research development is available to qualified applicants.
