POSITION SUMMARY: In collaboration with physicians in Neurocritical Care, Neurology, and Neurosurgery, the nursing director will organize a new Neurocritical Care Unit. The nursing director will be responsible for the internal and external recruitment of nurses for a 12+ bed unit. The nursing director will coordinate neurocritical nurse orientation and education, as well as the equipment and supply of the unit. The nursing director will formulate neurocritical nursing protocols as well as implement institutional nursing protocols. The nursing director will supervise day-to-day operations of the unit with a focus on compassionate care, quality improvement, and patient safety. This position is ideal for a nurse leader with a background in neurocritical care and the ambition to shape a Neurocritical Care Unit.

Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program. MSN Required.
Minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience or above, required.
Ten (10) years nurse management experience and neurocritical care experience, preferred.
Valid Louisiana license or temporary permit to practice professional nursing.
American Heart Association BLS-HCP, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale.
National Certification (CRRN, RNBC), preferred.
