Section Chief of Neurocritical Care

Spectrum Health’s Department of Clinical Neurosciences is seeking to add a Section Chief critical care neurologist to their fellowship-trained physician and advanced practice provider care team. This position is a clinical-academic hybrid and will lead the team with 20 percent administrative responsibilities and 80 percent clinical practice. This leader will participate in the Joint Commission certified Comprehensive Stroke Center, the largest in Michigan, and Level I Trauma Center at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Butterworth Hospital also serves as a Level 4 epilepsy center.
In addition to research opportunities, the position includes neurology residency and medical school teaching with faculty appointments through Michigan State University. Robust Grand Round opportunities are available for CME/MOC and a Vascular Neurology Fellowship is also under development.
Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital is a hub for regional stroke and trauma network in West Michigan.
Neuro ICU: 14 beds and growing
Annual Stroke Volume: 1500+
Annual intravenous thrombolysis Volume: 150+
Annual Thrombectomy Volume: 150+
Annual SAH Volume: 50+
Annual TBI Volume: 880
MD or DO, BC/BE, Neurocritical Care Fellowship training, 3-5 years clinical experience, previous leadership experience preferred.
