Description:
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Decentralized and Clinical Pharmacy Services, the Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Neurocritical Care will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to provide specialized pharmaceutical care, review and report on medication safety concerns, develop and apply medication use policies, facilitate staff member competency, and participate in research activities. This clinical specialist will also serve as a pharmacy representative to Neurology Joint Practice and Safety Committees at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.

The Clinical Pharmacy Specialist Neurocritical Care will serve as an expert resource for drug information and education for patients, students, residents, pharmacists, as well as other health care practitioners. The clinical specialist will serve as a preceptor for pharmacy students and residents in our ASHP-accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency Program as well as the Johns Hopkins Hospital PGY-2 Critical Care Residency Program. Faculty appointments are available through affiliation with the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. Additionally, the Neurocritical Care Clinical Pharmacy Specialist will generate and support pharmacy research and scholarly contributions while seeking to assume a leadership role in the profession of pharmacy.

Required qualifications:
Doctor of Pharmacy degree and a PGY-1 pharmacy practice residency. A specialized PGY-2 residency in Critical Care or Pharmacotherapy, or relevant specialty training, or equivalent years of experience in practice is also preferred.
BCPS or BCCCP certification is preferred.
