The Neurosurgery Department within the School of Medicine of the LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans is seeking applicants for a Neurointensivist. Appointment will be at the academic rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor (non-tenure, clinical track) with rank determined by the candidate’s credentials and experience. The anticipated primary site of clinical practice will be at West Jefferson Medical Center in Marrero, LA outside of New Orleans, a medical center of LCMC Health with 419 licensed inpatient beds, outpatient services, as well as the system’s only Comprehensive Stroke Certification Center. Responsibilities include the development and expansion of a Neurocritical Care; providing clinical services, supervision of Neurosurgery and Neurology residents, as well as shared call. Other activities include participation in medical student education, resident selection and evaluation, as well as involvement in clinically relevant research and scholarship.Qualifications:
* MD or equivalent
* Completion of a Neurology Residency
* Board Certified/Board Eligible (or equivalent) in Neurology and Neurocritical Care
* Licensed to practice medicine in Louisiana before date of hire
