Description:
Position: Endovascular Neurologist / Endovascular Neurosurgeon

Academic Title:
Clinical Assistant, Clinical Associate, or Clinical Professor (based on experience and training)

As the LCMC Health System Department of Neurosurgery continues to build a center of excellence for the neurosciences, we look to expand our care through the hire of either a Neurosurgeon with fellowship training in Neurointerventional/Endovascular Surgery, or a Neurologist with fellowship training in Vascular Neurology or Neurocritical Care, as well as Neurointerventional/Endovascular Surgery. This physician will provide care at West Jefferson Medical Center and University Medical Center New Orleans. Ideal candidates will have a desire to help build our neuroscience program through care of patients at the aforementioned hospitals, grow our telehealth / telestroke service to the community, train Neurosurgery residents, as well as engage in clinical research aimed at defining care for years to come. Our partnership includes neurosurgeons, neurointensivists, and neurologists providing care at the highest level to the residents of New Orleans, Louisiana and its metropolitan neighbors. In addition to resident and fellow support, our practice is augmented by advanced practice professionals (APPs) who also provide 24/7 in-house care of neurologically ill patients. Leadership opportunities are available for all candidates.

Prospective faculty will have completed either an Accreditation Council on Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) accredited residency in Neurosurgery, or Neurology, with respective board certification. Board Certified Neurologists should also have completed an ACGME fellowship in Vascular Neurology (1 year), or ACGME / United Council on Neurologic Subspecialties (UCNS) fellowship in Neurocritical Care (2 years). Fellowship training in Neurointerventional Surgery (2 years) is also a requirement for either Neurosurgeons, or Neurologists.
