Seeking Neurocritical Care NP/PA for a night shift position in our award-winning, growing Neurocritical Care Division!

UCSD’s Jacobs Medical Center and Hillcrest Medical Centers are the only medical centers in San Diego County with a designated Neurocritical Care Unit (NCCU) and primary Neurocritical Care Services staffed by board-certified neurointensivists. The NCCU division consists of 6 NP's, 6 NCC attendings, and 3 fellows, and is a collaboration between the departments of Neurosciences, Neurosurgery and Anesthesiology.

Under general supervision of the Director of the Neurocritical Care Service and other designated physician team members, the NP/PA will perform operational level duties and serve as a key member of the Neurocritical Care (NCC) inpatient services. The NP/PA will provide ongoing direct patient care delivery; provide full clinical support as the primary ICU team managing a diverse population of critically ill patients (including neurosurgical, neurovascular, neurotrauma, neurology) and assist with consultation on patients in the Emergency Department and from other inpatient departments.

The NP/PA will develop and provide education to students, nurses, medical students, interns, residents, and fellows. The NP will function as liaison to counselors, social workers, research nurses, other clinical support staff, and family members of the NCCU patient. Also, the NP will assist in orientation and training of NCC fellows and residents, and develop and implement policy and procedures related to the management of critical care patients. Other duties as assigned.
