The critical care section at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible critical care physician to join our dedicated pediatric neurocritical care team. The ideal candidate will have formal fellowship training in pediatric neurocritical care or have several years of experience practicing pediatric neurocritical care. The neurocritical care service functions as a consult service, collaborating with Neurosurgery, Neurology, Neuroradiology, Critical Care, Trauma, and Rehabilitation teams to provide high quality, integrated care to patients with acute neurologic injury in the pediatric ICU.
Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital is a 242-bed, free standing tertiary care center located in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan. It is the only licensed free-standing children’s hospital and Level 1 pediatric trauma center in West Michigan. The successful candidate will join a team of twenty-one critical care physicians who partner with experienced advanced practice providers to provide care for a busy 24-bed pediatric critical care unit. This group includes 10 cardiac critical care physicians who provide care for a 6-bed cardiac critical care unit. The intensivist group also staffs a pediatric sedation service, one of the largest pediatric sedation programs in the country. We care for a diverse patient population in the medical ICU, including kidney transplant, bone marrow transplant, neurosurgical patients, trauma patients, with an active cardiac and non-cardiac ECMO program.
Qualifications:
Education - Medical Degree (MD or DO)
Licenses - Current M.D. or D.O. license for the state of Michigan.
Current State of Michigan and Federal Narcotics Licenses.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Specific to SHMG 90 Days
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
