Neurocritical Care Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner

The neurocritical care program is recruiting for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. Hackensack University Medical Center is a 781-bed non-profit, tertiary research and academic medical center located in Hackensack, New Jersey, servicing northern New Jersey and the New York City Metropolitan area.

The Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner assists, monitors, and manages the day-to-day needs of neuro critical care patients as requested by, in conjunction with, and under the supervision of a physician.

Opportunity Information

• Neuro Critical Care ICU step down unit
• Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center
• Three (3) 13.5 hour shifts per week
• Night coverage

Responsibilities

• Patient care including intracerebral hemorrhage, acute ischemic strokes,
  subarachnoid hemorrhage, status epilepticus, brain and spine infections, malignancy, aneurysms, subdural
  and epidural hematomas, nerve conduction disorders and other neurosurgical and neurological
  emergencies.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of providers consisting of neuro-intensivists, pharmacists, educators, advanced practitioners, nurses and other support staff.

Qualifications

• New Jersey Physician Assistant License
• New Jersey Advanced Practice License and NJ Registered Nurse License
