ECU Health Physicians and ECU Health Medical Center are seeking a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join its Neurocritical Care team. The successful candidate will perform admissions and discharges, histories, physical exams, ongoing patient assessments and management, daily rounding, and ICU procedures (arterial lines, central lines, lumbar punctures, and intubation). Six months of critical care experience is preferred.

 

ECU Health Medical Center is a Joint Commission-certified Comprehensive Stroke Center.

• 24 bed NSICU

• Supervising physician is an experienced neurointensivist

• Ability to perform ICU procedures

• Inpatient responsibilities only

• 7 on / 7 off, 12 hour shift schedule

• Integrated EMR is EPIC

• Large referral network including over 110 ECU Health Physician practices and 9 ECU Health owned hospitals

• Established clinical neuroscience team of 10 neurosurgeons, including dual-trained cerebrovascular specialists and 20 + neurologists including an interventional neurologist, 4 vascular neurologists, 4 neurointensivists, and 13 subspecialty neurologists.

• Team of 10 dedicated NSICU NP/PA’s providing 24/7 coverage

 

ECU Health's Neuroscience program uses a multidisciplinary approach to provide a range of services to include diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of patients with neurological disorders. The hospital has excellent staff in nursing, radiology, general neurosurgery, endovascular neurosurgery and intervention, neuro-spine surgery, and neurology. The Neuroscience team takes great pride in their patient- and family-centered approach to care, which promotes optimization of patient outcomes.
