On the final payment page, you will increase the quantity to "2" and pay a fee of $100 USD.
Step 4: Submit your late-breaking scientific abstract using the specified link in your abstract fee payment confirmation email from info@neurocriticalcare.org.
Step 5: Complete the submission form (link in your abstract fee payment confirmation email). Submitters will be required to provide the payer information and select if they would like the abstract to be published in the official journal supplement, Neurocritical Care (if accepted).
Step 6: Receive decision in June 2025. Decision notifications will be sent to the individual selected as the Presenting Author in the submission form.
Submitters who select for their abstract (if accepted) to be published in the official journal supplement, Neurocritical Care are required to confirm their participation by Tuesday, June 17 to coordinate publication details. All submitters accepted to the meeting will receive a code to register for the Annual meeting at the early bird registration rate.

Submission Guidelines
Abstracts presented at the NCS Annual Meeting should be novel research.
Allowed/Prohibited Material
- If an abstract has already been presented at another meeting or will be, new aspects/focus of an abstract from the same study are welcome.
Allowed for Submissions:
- Novel research.
- Case series may be considered for late-breaking submission if they report novel, urgent, and clinically significant findings that could not have been anticipated before the regular submission deadline.
- New findings of a previously presented study/ new aspects or focus of an abstract from a study previously presented at another meeting.
Prohibited in Submissions:
- If an accepted abstract will be presented identically at another meeting, the author will be required to withdraw from the NCS Annual Meeting by June 17.
- Table, figures and graphs
- However, if your abstract is accepted, tables, figures, and graphs are permitted to be printed on accepted posters.
- Case reports
- Previously presented material that does NOT contain new findings (all submissions should be novel).
- It is the responsibility of the author to ensure they are not in violation of another meeting’s policy when submitting to the NCS 23rd Annual Meeting
- The same Primary author is designated as the Presenting Author for more than THREE (3) abstracts.
Selection Criteria
Abstracts are scored based on the following criteria:
- Importance and Relevance: Is there a clear rationale for the work provided? Does the study address an important question? Do its findings have the potential to advance the field of Neurocritical Care?
- Originality and Innovation: Is the work novel? Does it present new findings and/or address a problem using an original or improved approach?
- Quality of Methods and Writing: Are methods well described and valid to answer the question? Is the abstract clear and well written? Is the abstract within the 300-word limit?
Abstract Requirements
- Background & Purpose: Briefly describe the background that informs the study and clearly state the purpose or objective of the work. Include the underlying rationale and, if applicable, the study hypothesis.
- Methods: Describe your selection of observations or experimental subjects clearly. Describe analysis performed. Include statistical tests.
- Results: Present your results in a logical sequence. Results are expected and should not be "pending" unless a publishing embargo is in place, which should be specifically mentioned.
- Conclusion: Emphasize new and important aspects of the study and conclusions that are drawn from them.
Abstracts are peer reviewed on their scientific merits and according to subject category. Individuals submitting abstracts must indicate the appropriate review category. Abstracts may be re-categorized to a more appropriate category based on guidance from the NCS abstract co-chairs. NCS reserves the right to make minor editorial grammatical/spelling changes if required for clarity of presentation.

- Curing Coma
- Emerging and Other Topics
- Head and Spine Trauma
- ICU Organization, Staffing, and Education

Communications
Decision notifications will be sent to the individual selected as the Presenting Author in the submission form. We recommend the Primary Author list themselves as the Presenting Author. If accepted, the Primary Author can inform speakers@neurocriticalcare.org of any presenter changes. All authors entered are marked as “contributors” and will have access to the submission but should not make any changes. Only the Primary Author should make/request changes to avoid confusion.
Submission Form Information
- The word limit for all four abstract fields together is 300 - NOT including title, authors, affiliations, and disclosures.
- Your submission will not go through if you exceed the 300-word limit.
The title should be as brief as possible, but sufficiently long to indicate the nature of the study clearly. Capitalize the first letter of each word; do not capitalize every letter.
Do not include the names of the authors or institutions in the body of the research abstract, as these details should be hidden in the review process. The authors' names and affiliations (institutions) have a separate place on the submission form to be entered.
If you have any questions or need assistance accessing the submission form, please contact speakers@neurocriticalcare.org.
